This isn't just a disused airfield with a few traffic cones, but the genuine thing. It is ability testing gravel, to give you the chance to improve your driving skills and learn rally driving techniques in a purpose built, front wheel drive, gravel rally car on a true, loose gravel surface using competition designed forest rally tyres.
- 8.45 - Arrive at Rallyschool and sample a warm welcome from your host. Meet the rest of the group, tea and coffee served, sign on and meet your instructor.
- 09.00 - Briefing on the basic skills and techniques of Rally Driving and Safety Instructions.
- 09.30 - Your chance to take the wheel, straight in the hot seat, you will have 3 seperate test sessions taking you through stages 1, 2 and 3 of the Rally craft from hand brake turns to controlled opposite-lock slides.
- 12.15 - Lunch in the function room of the Arches Hotel.
- 12.45 - A chance to look over our Rally Preparation Workshops, meet up with the mechanical team who build and support our Professional Rally Teams.
- 1.00 - Back to the hot seat and take the wheel for stages 4 and 5, putting into practice what has been learned in the morning, increasing confidence and speed.
- 3.30 - It's time to swap places and be your instructor's Co-Driver, a real finale!
With a high speed demonstration run giving you a chance to experience and appreciate the thrill of a professional Rally Driver's skill.
- 4.00 - De-brief and presentation. It's time to assess your achievements for the day.
A signed Rallyschool certificate of achievement will also be presented.
Tea and coffee and time to discuss any topics raised from the day.
- 4.30 - Course finishes.
